I may be biased a little, but I feel that music is one of the most joyful ways to serve and present the teachings of Jesus as found in the Scriptures! The words and the music of the anthems that the Chancel Choir sings for the Traditional Services can touch the hearts of the singers as well as the hearts of those listening and, as the director of this wonderful group of singers, I can tell you that my heart is always filled to the top with joy by the music and the singers!
I started directing this Chancel Choir in 1973 and have been so blessed for the honor of this position for so many years! I always tell people I was only 12 when I first took this job, but that wouldn't be quite accurate...but close enough.
We work hard to present the best performances that we can, and we laugh a lot because we are a family that cares and supports each other and laughing is good for the soul, too.
If you've had experience with singing in choirs during your lifetime and would like to join our Chancel Choir Ministry, we would love to welcome you into our family! We rehearse in Room 10 on Wednesday nights from 5:00 to 6:15 pm from September through May.
