St. Andrew
November 19, 2018, 5:13 PM

This Sunday we will be acknowledging the patron saint of Scotland, St. Andrew. His feast day is November 30th, because it is believed that he died on November 30, 60 AD – crucified in Greece on an X shaped cross. He was martyred for teaching that Jesus is Lord and Christ is King. It also happens to be Christ the King Sunday, the last Sunday before the beginning of Advent, which also begins the new year on the liturgical calendar. So we end our church year by proclaiming Christ is our King. I'll be wearing my kilt to worship this Sunday. Please feel free to "Kirk your tartan" ( presenting your Scottish family's symbol, its tartan, at church)
